speed dating at church

So I have this roommate named...Kimmy. She is a little "trashy". For example, today she SKIPPED Sunday School because she was "speed dating" with men and she now has a crush (10 out of 10!) on all of them!!!!!!!

Let me explain speed dating. People are very slow going from one meeting to the other because they are busily moving from man to man, flirting to the max. It makes everyone VERY late for their church meetings! Church speed dating. We'll see how it works for Kimmy!

Guys, Joe is FREAKING OUT! He doesn’t want to talk to Amelia about her missionary boyfriend…but he has to know…so he wants ME to do it instead!!! Should I? I’ve only met her once!

Haha…this reminds me of how I always hear people saying they want their friends to talk to their girlfriends about them. What??? If my boyfriend had his bff come talk to me about how great he is and how I was a fool to not appreciate him more/dump him/propose right away, I would think both of them were INSANE!

So my friend Joe started dating this girl…we’ll call her “Amelia”. Amelia is super cute and fun (so he says). Anyway, she apparently has some “ex” she would occasionally mention to Joe. Joe got bored on facebook today at work and decided to see if he could find Amelia’s boyfriend on there.

He did.

She had just BARELY written on his wall and said:

“Happy Anniversary, Baby!”

UH OH!

So he looked further. She hadn’t written on his wall for six months (about the time Joe met Amelia for the first time at ward FHE). That wall post said:

“I can’t believe you’re leaving on a mission!!!!!! I will miss you SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!”

AND his (the ex) facebook relationship status is “in a relationship.” He showed me—it’s true! Then he asked “what does this mean?” Yikes!

Anyway, I saw THE cutest boy at work today!!! He is new. wow. But is dating a co-worker a bad idea? I mean, I am there 8 hours a day and I could get a lot of QT with my crush if I just had a crush on my co-worker. Right? Any experience???

My friend Laura dated her co-worker and it was A DISASTER!!! Yikes! He was an intern and she was his boss and then he asked her out and she went for it and then she had to fire him and so he had to dump her! all in one conversation!

hahahaha....and then this other boy I know who is a lawyer said he had a crush on a JUDGE and he wanted to ask permission "to approach the bench" and ask her out!! GOOD IDEA?!?!?!? haha. There went that legal career. :)

What do you think about NCMO?

I remember my first day at BYU when someone asked me about NCMO! I didn't even know what it was!!!!!!!!!! Now, twelve years later, I have heard a LOT about NCMO. Provo is such a crazy place. :)

Anyway, my friend Jocelyn is SO depressed right now because she had random make-out with her crush. I told her to NOT DO IT unless she was in some relationship with him. But she told me I was wrong...she learned the hard lesson that T IS NEVER WRONG!!! Now she is super confused about what is going on and is super sad when he doesn't call/etc. Bad move, Jocelyn!

Book update

I mentioned last week how I was reading this book. Well, turns out she is MARRIED and her husband is hot and rich and she is UNhappy?!?!?!?!?! This book is obviously fiction!!!

Anyway, this led me to some rather deep thinking. If that can't make you happy, what can? Good news--the book kind of hints at the answer. :) I guess it's better to be with someone that likes you for you than to be with someone that is hot and rich but that you can't be yourself around! Brilliant!!!

So August goal: pick boys based less on their "dateable resume" and more on how much I like being around them!!!
Does this mean I need to start crushing on my bff Paul??????

long awaited update!

Sorry guys--I have been SUCH a slacker! Now I am back to blogging. :) How happy are you that you won't be so bored at work anymore?

So many updates needed!!!

First of all, I went on my blind date last week and it was SUPER AWKWARD. At first he was semi-cute and I thought I'd give him a chance, but then my other friends didn't show up so it was just the two of us and we didn't have much to talk about and my food was nasty and I was home by 9 p.m.! Maybe that was the best part?

Do you guys ever watch Seinfeld? And there's an episode where they are asking Elaine about her date and she yada yada yadas the whole date and they say "you skipped over the best part!" and she says "no--I mentioned the lobster bisque." Brilliant!

Speaking of Lobster Bisque...one time I was on a cruise with my friend and she wanted to order the Lobster Bisque and I warned her about the alcohol in it and she asked the waiter and he said they pour in the alcohol after they cook the soup and I told her it wouldn't cook out but she said she still wanted it!!! HAHAH! And then she got sick!! Yikes!
